Il 29 settembre 2025 si celebra la sesta edizione della Giornata internazionale della consapevolezza sulle perdite e gli sprechi alimentari (IDAFLW), istituita dall’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite.
Questa ricorrenza ha lo scopo di mobilitare governi, settore privato, società civile, mondo accademico e cittadini affinché si rafforzino e amplino gli sforzi per ridurre perdite e sprechi di cibo lungo l’intera filiera agroalimentare, in coerenza con gli Obiettivi di Sostenibilità dell’Agenda 2030.
L’evento centrale globale, organizzato da UNEP (Programma delle Nazioni Unite per l’Ambiente) e FAO, si terrà in modalità virtuale il 29 settembre dalle 13:30 alle 15:30 CEST.
In occasione della Giornata, l’Osservatorio Waste Watcher International presenterà in anteprima, a Roma, il 25 settembre, un Rapporto speciale sugli sprechi in Italia con dati aggiornati ad agosto 2025, e con focus sul legame tra crisi climatiche, conflitti internazionali e comportamenti alimentari.
